We are always seeking charitable donations in support of our school. If you would like to help support Sleepy Hollow Preschool, we encourage you to take part in our fundraising efforts. ANNUAL AUCTION
The SHPS Annual Auction is a chance to socialize with old and new friends while bidding on quality goods and services donated by our members and local and national merchants. The auction typically takes place each spring, and we are always looking for partners to help make the night a success. To learn more, please email our Fundraising Chair.
ADDITIONAL EVENTS
We also host restaurant nights, bookfairs, spaghetti dinners and more each year at the school and at various locations in the community. Please check back here and on our Facebook page for up-to-date event details.
Shopping for SHPS
SHPS participates in several fundraising programs that allow you to shop for the things you need, all while benefiting our school. Help further our fundraising efforts by sharing the information below with family and friends! You can even post this information on your personal Facebook pages.
Harris Teeter VIC Card/Together In Education Program – Next time you’re in the checkout line, tell the cashier you’d like to link your VIC Card to SHPS Account #4304. You can also link your VIC Card online by logging into My Harris Teeter and selecting the “Together In Education” link where you will be able to enter SHPS Account #4304. VIC cards must be re-linked each year, beginning August 1st.
Contact our fundraising chair, Maura Canary, to purchase a shirt for yourself or your child at school. Child sizes are $18 (solid color or tie dye) and adult sizes are all $22. We also have Sleepy Hollow totes available for $18, kids’ baseball caps for $20 and car magnets for $5.
Be sure to keep track of all your kid's belongings this year by labeling everything your child brings to school with Mabel's Labels! The plastic labels are dishwasher-proof and great on water shoes and swim goggles too! Search for Sleepy Hollow Preschool link when making your Mabel's Labels purchase and 20% of your purchase will be donated back to our school!
Organizational Information
Sleepy Hollow is a non-profit, non-sectarian, cooperative preschool for children ages 2-5, which is run entirely by parents and a dedicated staff of teachers. We strive to create a positive and nurturing environment that promotes curiosity, creativity, and a caring spirit among our young, diverse student body. Fundraising dollars are carefully tracked so that 100% is used to help fund things like teacher training, field trips, need-based student scholarships, and supplemental curriculum materials not covered by tuition alone.
Our school is located in Annandale, Virginia, but due to the wonderful educational opportunities, families come from all over Fairfax County, Falls Church, Alexandria, and Arlington. By making a donation, your business is afforded a wonderful advertising opportunity in new patronage from our school community. In years past, business owners have received many new customers from the advertising and word of mouth generated by our school.
After being a part of the community for 7 decades, SHPS has a large and devoted community of supporters. Our current membership and alumni families are local and very loyal to organizations that support our school. Your name and gift will be prominently featured in our auction catalog (if applicable) and on our website. If online, we will also be able to link directly to your corporate website, a new feature to the school which allows our Alumni to access your business.
Sleepy Hollow Preschool is classified by the IRS as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, and all donations are tax deductible. Our tax identification number is 540-61-2460.
